The European Club links features 20 holes (two extra holes are in play most days) of exciting links golf through tumbling dunes with dramatic views of the Irish Sea from no fewer than sixteen of the holes, with some the holes playing along the beach.
A distinguished 4-ball visited The European Club in July of 2002 on their way to the British Open at Muirfield. Tiger Woods, David Duval, Scott McCarron and Mark O'Meara made up the tee-time. Mr. Woods recorded a course record 67 on his first visit to the club.
The Golf World ranking of the 100 Greatest Golf Courses in Britain & Ireland (November 2002) listed the European Club in 21st place.
The links of The European Club is located in magnificent sand dunes on the Irish Sea about 35-miles south from Dublin city centre.
Locate Dublin midway on Ireland's east coast and then follow the coastline south to the coastal towns of Wicklow and Arklow. The links of The European Club is midway between these two towns and adjoins and runs up onto the southerly slopes of Mizen Head. |
