Saunton East Course is a championship links carved out between the coastal dunes of Braunton Burrows, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wild flowers such as orchids, evening primrose and poppies grow in abundance around the course.
Saunton East is often home to prestigious amateur championships, including the 1997 British Boys Championship won by a young Sergio Garcia.
The course was redesigned in 1919 by the famous designer W. Herbert Fowler and although slight modifications have been made since the war the course is essentially unchanged.
