Troia Golf

Troia Golf Course offers a championship links located along the peninsula of Tróia – a region of outstanding natural beauty, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sado Estuary, with an imposing view over the Arrábida Mountain.

Robert Trent Jones Snr conceived a golf course truly integrated in the natural landscape, a wonderful pine forest surrounded by sand dunes and the sea. The white sand is present, not only in the bunkers that protect the small and straight greens, but also in the surroundings where natural plants are found in abundance.

There are two holes that deserve a special reference – numbers 3 and 18. Hole number 3, a par 4 with a remarkable landscape and magnificent sea view, was considered by Robert Trent Jones Senior himself as one of the best he ever designed. Hole number 18, is a closing par 5 with a dog-leg to the left with an elevated green protected by three frontal bunkers – a dramatic finish to your round at Troia!

The Portugal Open was held in Troia golf Championship Course in 1983, won by Sam Torrance. The Troia Golf Championship Course was ranked by the “Golf World” magazine in 2009 as the 20th Best Golf Course in Europe.
