Length: 6435m

Course designer: Gene Sarazen

Fairmont Torrance

The Fairmont Torrance Course is a dramatic creation from the late Gene Sarazen and named after Ryder Cup Captain Sam Torrance. The gorse-lined fairways roll with the natural contours of the land along its striking clifftop setting with glorious views of St Andrews and beyond to the Grampian Mountains.

Features of the course are typically Scottish, with stone walls, deep bunkers and streams dotted about around the 18 holes. The exposed setting calls for some skilful shotmaking in the wind and bump and runs to the large, true greens are often the order of the day.

The signature hole is the 17th where the cliffs drop off dramatically all the way down the right of its 444 yards.

Fairmont Kittocks

Par: 73

Length: 7049 yards

Course designer: Bruce Devlin

Fairmont Kittocks

Bruce Devlin's experience and expertise have provided Kittocks with its innovative and exciting character. It is a truly magnificent 72 par, 7,049 yard championship course that sweeps its way along the rugged seaside landscape. This as yet undiscovered gem begins by innocently easing the golfer into a false sense of security, offering wide, well manicured fairways that wind around man-made water features and risky bunkers, teasing the golfer with a mix of par fours and fives.

The excitement continues to mount as the homeward stretch lies ahead, all the while heading to the par 4, signature 17th. After a solid drive this 'dog leg' leaves a precarious second shot towards the cliff edge green which is heavily guarded by slopes and strategically placed bunkers. A final surprise awaits with a par 3 18th, where the golfer must complete the round with a skilful shot to secure par.

St Andrews Eden

Opened for play in 1914, the St Andrews Eden is a course of character but slightly less testing and more forgiving than the three courses lying on the seaward side.

The Eden Tournament, inaugurated in 1919, remains one of the major amateur British golfing events. Every year over 250 golfers play for the Eden trophy in the second week of August.
