Tour Details
The AscotGolf.com Ireland North to South Tour commences at Royal Portrush (Dunluce) – home to Darren Clarke and former Seniors British Open venue.
From there it’s only a short distance transfer in your luxury coach along the Antrim coast to the championship links of Castlerock and Portstewart, with local attractions including the resort town of Portrush, Bushmills Distillery and the Giant’s Causeway.
A short descent south along the Antrim coast takes us into County Down and the scenic delights of Ardglass with its dramatic cliffs and views of the Mourne Mountains. Of course, no visit to County Down would be complete without a round on Royal County Down, a course consistently rated in the world’s top 20 and the outward half of which is described by Tom Watson as “as fine a nine holes as I have ever played”.
On crossing the border from North to South, our next stop is at the County Louth Golf Club, a beautiful links and proud host to the Irish Open, 2009. Nearby in Co Meath, is the hidden gem of the east coast, Laytown and Bettystown Golf Club, with horse racing in the summer on the wide open beach at Bettystown!
From there, continue to Ireland’s capital, Dublin, with lively nightlife and bars, and the famous Portmarnock Championship links, host to the Irish Open no less than 12 times! Dublin airport is easily accessible from our base at the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links.
