The accommodation comprises of Le Chateau offering classic and deluxe guest rooms, and Le Relais offering modern and eco-friendly rooms located right next to the 1st tee of the golf course. Le Château in contrast captures the very essence of its 12th and 16th century history. From intricately carved marble fireplaces and imposing staircases to authentic period furniture and hand-woven tapestries.

Château des Vigiers features 3 restaurants. Les Fresques is a gastronomic restaurant is situated in the East Wing of the Chateau. In the old wine building Brasserie Le Chai serves fresh and seasonal local specialties. Relais Breakfast Room serves continental breakfast to those staying in the Relais.

The Chateau also offers guests The Maria Gallan Beauty Centre – for beauty treatments, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, outdoor heated swimming pool and fitness centre.

The Donald Steel design 27-hole championship golf course is set wonderfully amongst plum orchards, oak woods, lakes and vineyards with unlimited golf packages for 7 night stays or for shorter stays on request.

Superior Relais Located in the Relais des Vigiers, each room is bright, and spacious. Although modern, solar-powered and eco-friendly, Relais des Vigiers still pays homage to tradition. The architectural concept is based on the traditional tobacco-drying barns, typical of the Dordogne. Each window-shuttered room has access to the terrace with views overlooking the golf course and vineyards of the Vigiers resort.

Classic Chateau Classic rooms are situated on the first and ground floors of the Château. Classic rooms on the ground floor are located in the patio wing of the Château. They are attractively furnished and decorated in a more modern style with a terrace. From your window, you will look out over views of the golf course and parklands. Buffet breakfast is served either in the Château or in the room if requested. Rooms feature an LCD television, air conditioning, wireless internet, a mini bar and a safe.

Deluxe Chateau Deluxe Rooms are individually decorated in a distinctive French country house style. From crisp, French linen, to marble fireplaces, burnished wooden furniture, to slipper bathtubs, staying in a deluxe room will be an experience to remember. From your window or private terrace, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view including the impressive golf course or the picturesque grounds.

Dependances Suites Set in the grounds of the Chateau, the 11 Dépendances Suites measure 60m². Apartments can be formed by combining Standard Rooms.

Each light and airy sitting room has double-height ceilings and a ground floor terrace with a bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor. Exposed brickwork, fireplaces and soft drapes combine to create a rustic haven.

All Dependances Suites feature air conditioning, an LCD television, wireless internet, mini bar, a safe and telephone.

Bar/Dining

Brasserie Le Chai Set in the old wine making building, the Brasserie “Le Chai” serves famous regional specialities such as Magret de Canard, Confit and home-made Foie Gras as well as lighter lunches, in a relaxed atmosphere. Inside the restaurant’s vaulted ceiling and warm open fire portray rural charm. Outside, the elevated terrace is perfect for dining in peace under an ancient walnut tree, with views of the lake, parkland and Château.

Les Fresques Château des Vigiers’ gastronomic restaurant is situated in the East Wing of the Chateau. Demonstrating the highest standards of french cuisine, fusing seasonal produce such as spring lamb, fresh fish, oysters and shellfish with regional specialities such as truffles, to great effect. The extensive wine cellar contains some of the finest wines in the Dordogne as well as many affordable speciality vintages.

Relais Breakfast Room Buffet breakfast is served from 7am to 10am in the Château for guests staying in the Château, in the Relais Breakfast room for guests staying in the Relais. Continental breakfast is only served in Deluxe and Classic rooms at the Château.

Leisure Facilities

Chateau des Vigiers offers a fully equipped fitness centre and 2 tennis courts and the Maria Galland Beauty Centre.

The golf course features a six-hole academy course, ideal for beginners, as well as a driving range, chipping greens, putting green and practice bunkers.

Local Area

Chateau des Vigiers is an ideal base for wine lovers. The hotel boasts its own vineyard and arranges for visits to the neighbouring vineyards in Bergerac, as well as the world famous vineyards of St Emilion, Pomerol, Sauternes and Médoc.

Other highlights of the Dordogne region include the caves at Lascaux and the beautiful market town of Le Bugue.

Situated in the West Wing of the ancient Château de Vigiers, Les Fresques is a gourmet restaurant adorned with Renaissance style frescos. With a cosy and chic atmosphere, diners enjoy superb views over the lake and a high standard of cuisine accompanied by discreet and professional service. The menus are simple and delicious and vary according to the season with an emphasis on seafood and local produce, with a local wine-list to match! Open for dinner every night except Sunday and Monday.

Ascot Golf packages allow for 1 gourmet dinner at Le Fresques for every 3 nights at Chateau de Vigiers.

Château des Vigiers is set within 450 acres in the heart of the wine district of the Dordogne, one hour east of Bordeaux. Donald Steel, considered to be one of the very best "natural" golf course architects, has created 27-holes set among plum trees, oak woods, lakes and vineyards, with the Château taking the centrepiece for the 9th and 18th. When asked by Golf World to name his favourite hole from his long career, Donald Steel chose the 18th at Château des Vigiers, with its dogleg over a ridge leading to a second shot across a lake to the green in front of the Château. The course is maintained in a very high condition, with fast greens. Strategic pin positions and longer rough can turn the course into a challenge for the best golfer. One of the members at Chateau des Vigiers is former Ryder Cup player, Per Ulrik Johansson, who holds the course record of 66. The third nine was only added in 2008, with the first three holes running through a beautiful valley for which the nine is named “La Vallée”.
