The Hotel Royal Evian is a spectacular hotel situated on the banks of Lake Geneva at Evian les Bains in the French Alps, just 45-minutes from Geneva Airport. Closely surrounded by 47 acres of gardens flanked by centuries old trees, the Royal has received visitors since 1909, including Edward VII of England, to whom it owes its name!

While the hotel’s décor fully retains the charm of the Belle Epoque, it also offers all modern conveniences. Its refinement and quintessentially French-style luxury have been brought up to date with exquisite décor throughout, in the guest rooms and in the restaurants and Spa. The Royal is currently completing a 2-year renovation, with reopening from July 2015.

The Evian Resort Golf Club is located just only a few minutes’ walk from the Royal hotels. This 18-hole championship course is one of the most beautiful in Europe and offers magnificent views over the lake and mountains.

Evian Resort Golf Course plays host each year to the Evian Championship for ladies - the first Major Golf Tournament to take place in continental Europe following an extensive course redesign in 2013.

Les Fresques restaurant at the Hôtel Royal serves lunch and dinner in a dining room with exceptional views over Lake Geneva. Discover a sophisticated menu while enjoying exquisite views.

Chef Patrice VANDER and his team serve creative cuisine based on fresh, seasonal ingredients. The menu is graced by a number of classical dishes such as sole meunière, alongside dishes ‘trending’ now such as wok-fried prawns, sea bream, ginger, coriander and summer vegetables, and his amazing Fish and Chips, with cod and waffle fries. There is a vast array of delicious desserts created by pastry chef Stéphane ARRETE and his team. You simply have to try ‘R’, a black chocolate gourmet surprise revealing a heart that changes with the seasons! On top of that, the cellar at Hôtel Royal is an absolute treasure trove. Evian Sommelier scours top vineyards in a quest to offer you exceptional wines that are the perfect accompaniment to the dishes you choose. The cellars boast some 10 000 bottles, including an exceptional selection of wines from Domaine de La Romanée-Conti and from Didier Dagueneau.

L’Édouard VII - Enjoy sophisticated and creative gourmet cuisine in a charming period dining room, with a décor in keeping with the spirit of the Hôtel Royal.

Under the delicate frescoes painted by the hand of Jaulmes, sample chef Patrice VANDER’s creative cuisine in which he and his team add an inventive modern twist to classical French dishes.

The menu offers a seasonal menu which showcases local cuisine and top-quality ingredients. Certain iconic dishes, such as truffles, are served in a variety of different ways throughout the year. Why not try the eight-course surprise menu based on the Chef’s inspiration of the moment!

La Véranda offers wood panels and large picture windows, to enjoy a delicious, varied buffet. Whatever the time of day, breakfast lunch or dinner, you will always find fresh seasonal ingredients. Tony’s Bar With its cosy atmosphere, leather armchairs and finely carved fireplace, Tony’s Bar at the Hôtel Royal is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cocktail or a local delicacy.

Why not take a break with family or friends and enjoy the particularly British elegance of the bar lounge or the sunny terrace overlooking Lake Geneva. During the French school holidays, a pianist plays in the evening.

L’Oliveraie – In summer, L’Oliveraie restaurant serves lunch at the poolside at the Hôtel Royal, in Evian. Enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in the shade of age-old olive trees.

Le Chalet du Golf – Evian Resort’s Golf Course restaurant: After 18 holes on one of the finest courses in Europe, or when you’ve finished your coaching session, why not stop for a break at Le Chalet du Golf. Le Liberté overlooks the lake and serves traditional cuisine either on its terrace or in a French-brasserie-style dining room. The Évian Royal Sports Experience accompanies to the most beautiful rivers and streams in the Alps for white-water sports. Water-skiing, fishing and other water-activities at Lake Geneva.

The fantastic Evian Golf Club Academy incorporates 12 specific training areas covering all aspects of the game - a 300m driving range, 50m lob/chip shot area, a 900sqm putting green and also 4 practice holes with varying length! All the latest video/computer analysis is also available at Evian.

Golf Instruction programmes are available for beginners as well as experienced players.

Tuition Packages

Introduction Come and discover golf or improve your game on a real course. We offer an introductory programme at the Evian Resort Golf Club Academy, an exceptional place to play golf and where following a quick introduction and warm-up you will head directly to the 4-hole course in the company of a professional instructor.

Discovery A full introduction to the main areas of the game of golf: short game, swing, golf etiquette and coaching on the 4-hole course. You will receive a course booklet that sums up the basics on the golf swing and a rule book at the end of the programme, plus a video.

Course Access I Improving the main golf shots: swing, approach shots, bunker play and putting with video analysis. Course booklet (including training work plan) and rule book given out at the end of the week,plus one 9 hole round.

Course Access II Preparation for the 18-hole course: assessment, evaluation, video analysis, goals and training work plan on golf shot course management. All the information is included in a course booklet +rule book.

Handicap Preparation A week-long programme to prepare for taking the Green Card exam or 1st Handicap.

- 4 hours of golf per day: 2 hours' training each morning and 2 hours on the course in the afternoon with the instructor (3 at the Academy and 2 on the course at the Evian Resort Golf Club),

- presentation of the exam requirements: technique, rules and etiquette, the course,

- assessment, evaluation and training programme based on these requirements,

- improving the main golf shots at the Academy in a real-game situation

- golf shot management and scoring on the course (tactics, strategy, mental approach),

- learning the etiquette and rules on the course,

- video analysis + CD + course booklet + rule book,

- Possibility to take the exam on the last day over 9 holes.

Golf Assessment A comprehensive programme to give you:

- overall perspective and improve your allround game.

- Training at the Academy which is then put into practice on the course at the Evian Resort Golf Club.

- Mental and physical preparation. Nutritional advice.

Performance Programmes Groups of 2 to 4 students.

- During these programmes, the Pro will concentrate on assessing your current needs and above all setting up a tailored progress plan based on your strengths and any possible weaknesses.

- Video analysis may be used if requested, interaction with the Pro is constant. On the days of your lessons, you enjoy unlimited access to the Academy’s training modules and 4-hole course.

- The Performance Programme includes 131/2 hours of tuition spread over three days, times to be determined between Monday and Sunday (lunch included).

Juniors Each day during French School Summer Holidays, professional instructors organise fun events for the children (drive contest, approach course, competition on the course, putting contests. 1 hour a day from Monday to Sunday, every afternoon.

Kids can enjoy endless exciting activities and make new friends at the fabulous Kids Resort or Royal Rider (teen club), so that parents can enjoy leisure time at Evian Resort with the added comfort of knowing that children can also have a great time.

There’s everything from mini safaris and treasure hunts to day excursions, theme nights and sports tournaments. Teenagers even get their own private facility with multimedia zone, sound system and soft drinks bar. And everything’s supervised by a team of fun, qualified professionals.

All activities are free of charge. A supplement is payable for excursions.

KIDS RESORT (3-11yrs)

The 1000sq m Kids Resort has its own workshops, restaurant, heated pool, dance studio and stage for shows.

Activities include mini safaris, treasure hunts, mini-Olympics, sculpting circus acts and more. And each Thursday they get to put on their own Adventurers’ Show.

Open: Every day from 8.30am to 6pm during the French school holidays and from 9am. to 5.30pm at other times. Lunch is available at midday when reserved in advance.

Royal Rider Club (Teenagers)

The Royal Rider Club is a dedicated facility nestled in the heart of the grounds away from parents and equipped with a billiard table, table football, sound system, board games and a bar with fruit juices. There is a mezzanine floor with a cosy relaxation and chat area and a multimedia zone.

Kids can indulge in sports and creative activities including Skating, Rollerblading, Climbing, Squash, Tennis, Pitch & Putt, Sailing, Canyoning, Golf, Water Skiing and Go-Karts

During the French school holidays the club organises day excursions including laser game, aquaparc and bowling, as well as musical programmes theme nights and karaoke.

Open: Every day 12-6pm and 7pm-10pm.

CRECHE (0-3yrs):

1 - 12 months: Your baby will be supervised by early childhood professionals and helped with development through sensorial, introduction to music. Facilities include a nap room, bottle preparation area and changing room.

1 to 3 years: Numerous activities: modelling workshop, introduction to painting, puppet show, swimming pool and water games …

The Evian Royal Golf Club is an immaculately presented layout which annually hosts the Evian Masters ladies professional tournament. The course is situated on the banks of Lake Geneva. There are some elevation changes, with generous sloping fairways but small and challenging greens. The 2nd hole is a signature hole - just 147m in length, but the tee is raised and the backdrop is Lake Geneva. A spectacular place to play golf!
