After an extensive six-month renovation, Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius, has reopened on 1 November 2015. Ascot Golf packages include Half Board and Daily golf at Ile aux Cerfs and nearby Anahita Golf Club by Four Seasons.

Children of hotel guests under the age of 12 can enjoy complimentary buffet meals in All Day Dining and Pool Cafes when accompanied by a paying adult, up to a maximum of 2 children. In excess of 2 children under the age of 12, a 50% discount of the buffet price will be given.

Guests can eat at Le Bazar (Buffet only) for dinner or choose to eat at either Republik Beach Club & Grill (a la carte), Safran (a la carte) or Kushi (a la carte) with dinner credit of EUR60.

Also note that themed nights (occasional BBQ at Republik Beach Club & Grill, Tandoor night at Safran and others) in those three mentioned restaurants might also incur a supplement over and above that dinner credit.

At Le Bazar, themed evenings are offered buffet style : Mauritian Buffet, The Butcher Shop (best meat cuts), Seafood Buffet, Mediterranean and international.

Kushi restaurant is not recommended with children as the restaurant configuration and ambience is more suitable for adult.

The resort features five restaurants that serve the finest Western and Asian cuisines. From the spices and fragrances of India to the pure, fresh ingredients of Japan, there is something for every taste and occasion.

Complementing the experience is a choice of locations to include the quiet island retreat of Ilot Mangénie!

Dress Code at Our Dining Venues For lunch, we recommend a smart casual dress code. Guests are also asked to refrain from wearing swimsuits and walking barefoot.

Dinner at our different dining venues is slightly more formal. Therefore, we would be grateful if gentlemen could avoid wearing shorts and open-toed shoes, unless at Le Bazar.

Our two bars, Republik and Sega Bar, do not permit guests under 16 years old to enter. Kushi, our Japanese restaurant, does not permit guests under 16 years old to enter at dinner time.

Located on the first floor, with its entrance through the library lounge, Kushi overlooks the beautiful lagoon and Ilot Mangénie.

Kushi is a specialised Japanese restaurant with a sushi bar manned by a master sushi chef, as well as shabu shabu and signature kobe and wagyu beef menus, which are all accompanied by a wide variety of sake and cocktails. You can also enjoy a unique yakiniku experience that includes a built-in grill at each table, and a traditional Omakase set menu offering chef ’s specials that change daily depending on fresh fish arrivals.

You will be transported to the Far East with the restaurant's red, sensual Geisha-inspired design, including an impressive centrepiece made of hundreds of kushi combs.

The first of its kind in Mauritius, Le Bazar is a very cosy and innovative venue, exuding a stylish yet casual atmosphere with bistro-style chalkboard menus and comfortable surroundings.

This dynamic venue features a large variety of dishes and ingredients. Its show kitchen and market place atmosphere invites guests to interact with our Chefs and enjoy an incomparable level of service.

Le Bazar encompasses world cuisine with a Szechuan Master Chef, a dim-sum selection and noodle bar, a rotisserie from which a variety of marinated and dry-rub meats are displayed on a nightly basis, a western corner with meat and seafood grilled specialities, a signature burger and a fish and chips station.

You can enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace or sample a concoction from the unique juice and herbs bar, which serves up smoothies, cold-pressed juices, pressed sugar cane and infusions.

Republik Beach Club & Grill, is a contemporary lifestyle destination, including a restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine and charcoal fired barbecue grills, a trendy bar where you can revel in style against a soundtrack of live music, theme nights and performances by local and international DJs, and a bohemian beach lounge!

Set to become an elite hotspot, the trendy beach club and grill showcases a unique Art & Food concept which is a blend between arts and gastronomy, interpreted into ‘the art of the table'. This vision is reflected in all aspects of the venue, from the décor to the music. The aim is to inspire creativity through regular artistic interactions, be it with sculptors, painters, or musicians.

Overlooking Hibiscus Bay, Safran is a refined dining restaurant offering a blend of authentic Indian and Mauritian cuisines.

The menu was conceived by internationally acclaimed Chef Ramesh Bundi and provides an array of popular Indian dishes served family-style.

The venue offers all the tenets a truly memorable dining experience, from decoration and ambience to preparation and presentation. In addition to an extensive a la carte menu, the restaurant offers set menus, including vegetarian options and a premium menu.

Featuring a copper clad tandoori oven and incense at the entrance, the restaurant allows guests to embark on a sensory journey to India.

Bar / Cafe

Sega, named after the Mauritian dance, is a rum and Tiki bar that offers Mauritian-inspired beverages, a unique smoked cocktail menu, exotic Tiki concoctions and a signature “Shangri-La Rum Oak”, an eight-year-old rum that can be personalised to your taste.

Sega Bar represents the centrepiece of entertainment for the resort with a specially designed over-the-pool stage that showcases cultural shows featuring the most exciting local talents, reggae and seggae music, as well as a live jazz and blues band nightly.

The rum sommelier can give you a unique insight into local rums. A minimum of 10 infused rums are blended and mixed to create expert concoctions.

Ti-Marche A 'grab-and-go' concept located in the resort lobby provides a one-stop-shop experience for guests by offering coffee, tea and fresh juice in the morning, along with pastries, bakery items and viennoiseries.

Health Centre

Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius, offers a state-of-the-art Heath Centre with facilities to suit every fitness preference. The Health Centre’s experienced team can help each guest achieve their best through personal training and stretching sessions, and special programmes for swimming, aquatic exercise, tennis and golf.

The Health Centre is open from 7am to 9pm every day. Shangri-La guests can use the fitness equipment for free. However, a fee will be charged for personal training services.

Tennis Club

Tennis aficionados and casual players alike can enjoy the Tennis Club’s four floodlit courts. The Tennis Club is affiliated with the S-Tennis Academy, which provides experienced and qualified instructors to assist guests with perfecting their technique.

The Ile aux Cerfs golf course at Le Touessrok is one of the world’s finest. On a beautiful island off the east coast of Mauritius, this 18-hole championship golf course was designed by Bernhard Langer and is separated from the mainland resort by a shimmering turquoise lagoon.

CHI, The Spa draws inspiration from the origins of the Shangri-La legend, which describes a place of personal peace, enchantment and well-being, focuses primarily on holistic and ayurvedic wellness and provides treatments to help guests unwind and relax.

Set within a secluded area of the resort that is enclosed by luscious, verdant tropical vegetation, CHI, The Spa offers 8 treatment rooms. Decorated in distinctive Shangri-La style, the spa also features design elements that are inspired by the local culture.

Guests can request a private consultation with nutritionists and ayurvedic doctors that can develop personalised wellness experiences to meet their specific needs.

Spa Menu

CHI, The Spa’s menu includes Chinese and ayurvedic treatments. In traditional Chinese philosophy, chi, or qi, is the universal life force that governs well-being and personal vitality. For good health to be maintained, it is believed that chi must flow freely within the body. On the other hand, when chi is blocked, disease and illness follow.

Movement is a key element in releasing blockages within the body. Body massage, exercise, stretching and moving the mind through relaxation and meditation practices form the basis of our spa philosophy and are combined to assist the body’s natural renewal.

CHI, The Spa’s menu also incorporates the renowned yogic practice of pranayama into every treatment. Each of our treatments are started with our signature breathing and meditation exercises to provide guests a complete spa journey.

Taking inspiration from local music, the Traditional Tipik Massage is a signature offering that features rhythmic strokes administered by a therapist to the sound of Sega music performed by local musicians. The therapy is a feast for the senses and allows one to reconnect with what is important and energise.

Sugar cane, which is abundant in Mauritius, has been incorporated into an invigorating signature massage. During the treatment, a sugar cane baton is used as a tool to release body tension.

Products

The products used in our treatments, including ILA cosmetics and ingredients grown in CHI, The Spa’s dedicated garden, are organic and/or locally sourced. Guests can even visit our garden to partake in the making of the ointments that will be used during their treatment.

Families

T-Club / Teen Club

Shangri-La's Le Touessrok Resort & Spa offers a relaxing, worry-free tropical holiday for your entire family.

T-Club (the Kids' Club) is open from 9am to 10pm daily. Access is free for all children aged between four and 11 years old.

The large, well-equipped clubhouse provides fun, imaginative programmes and activities. Children can enjoy golf, tennis, windsurfing and swimming, as well as a variety of educational exercises.

Babysitters are required for unaccompanied children younger than four years old, and are available at an additional charge.

Access to the Teens Club is free for children from 12 to 17 years old. Here, teens will meet new friends from around the world in a fun, safe environment and enjoy sports, educational outings, dancing and themed evenings.

Dinnertime is always a special occasion, with a wide selection of dishes. Kids under 12 years old can enjoy complimentary meals at the Kids' Club. At Le Bazar, a maximum of 2 children under 12 years old per room can enjoy complimentary meals when accompanied by at least 1 paying adult.

Ile aux Cerfs

Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course is located across a coral lagoon from the renowned Le Touessrok Resort and can be reached only by a “golfing water taxi”. All 18 holes have views of the ocean - some with glimpses across clearings through the trees, others by coming close to the shore. There are nine lakes in all on Ile aux Cerfs, with a number of holes requiring tee shots across sea inlets to the fairways. Visually the golf course is outstanding, with the ocean and lakes set against expansive bunkers of white sand and a canopy of trees and vegetation.

Anahita Golf

Set between land and sea, Anahita is a championship course with large fairways and five sets of tees. Built to USGA standards and managed by Four Seasons at Anahita, it is the first of its kind in Mauritius. Six stunning ocean front holes culminate in a final shot that is among the most spectacular in the world. Carefully woven into the tropical sanctuary, the course is set against lush mountains and fringed by a vast crystal-clear lagoon. Anahita played host to the 2016 Mauritius Open on the European Tour, won by Korean professional Jeunghun Wang.
