Local Area

The Hassan Tower, part of the remains of an unfinished 12th-century mosque which was intended to be the largest in the world, is only 1km from the hotel, while the Chellah, a fascinating complex of medieval ruins, is only 2km. Also within 2km is the Kasbah des Oudaia, a picturesque fortress built in the 12th century with winding blue and white-painted streets.

There are also excellent beaches around Rabat, particularly to the south of the city, with long golden sands and plenty of watersports.

Royal Dar Es-Salam Red Course

Par: 73 Length: 7462 yards Course designer: Robert Trent Jones

One of Robert Trent Jones' finest creations set amidst a forest of cork trees, the Red Course is home to the Moroccan Open and considered one of the toughest tests to have graced the European Tour. It’s long but fair with raised greens surrounded by bunkers offering a true test of a golfer’s skill. The course has immaculate Bermuda grass fairways, which wind around attractive water hazards, and true, fast greens. The 9th is the course’s signature hole with its green at the centre of a large lake, while the 18th is a truly testing finishing hole.

Royal Dar Es-Salam Blue Course

Par: 72 Length: 6600 yards Course designer: Robert Trent Jones

The Blue Course at Royal Dar Es-Salam is less demanding than the long Red Course with fewer fairway bunkers. It’s still great fun for the golfer with trees and brambles narrowing the beautiful Bermuda grass fairways and true greens hidden behind doglegs. The 11th is a captivating par 4 where the fairway is flanked by a lake and two large mimosa trees which will not stop the ball, obviously intended to finish in water.

Royal Dar Es-Salam Green Course

The Royal Dar Es-Salam Green Course is perfect for a relaxed and friendly game amid the shaded cork forest. There is no room for a par 5, but there are four par 3s of lengths up to 200 yards, at the heart of a park full of graceful Red-billed Oxpeckers!
