Westin Mission Hills - Dye
Par: 70
Length: 6706 yards
Course designer: Pete Dye
|
The Pete Dye Resort Course boasts all of his personal trademarks including pot bunkers, elevated tees and hidden pin placements.
The fantastic par-3 8th is a fine example of his traditions with railway sleepers lining the water hazard, which unnervingly extends from the tee-boxes right across to the angled green.
Large, elevated and sloping greens are surrounded by challenging mounds, bunkering and clinging grass, ensuring players short game will be put to the test!
Pete Dye course has hosted the California State Open, Senior PGA Tour Qualifying Finals and LPGA Tour events.
This Pete Dye Resort Course exemplify tradition and prestige. The Pete Dye Course is one of Dye's most enjoyable layouts and boasts all of his trademarks, including the use of railroad ties, pot bunkers, elevated tees and hidden pin placements.
The 18-hole "Pete Dye" course at the Mission Hills Country Club facility in Rancho Mirage, California features 6,955 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.9 and it has a slope rating of 135. Designed by Pete Dye, ASGCA, the Pete Dye golf course opened in 1970.

Westin Mission Hills - Player Signature
Par: 72
Length: 7062 yards
Course designer: Gary Player
|
The Mission Hills North Course has proved to be a popular one with both public and resort golfers. It is used as an alternative to the Pete Dye Course and is generally easier for the average golfer to play. Player's design makes extensive use of water, with lakes coming into play on 10 holes. On the par-5 11th, water is reachable on all three shots before reaching the green. Three of the course's par-4s - the fifth, eighth and 12th - all feature water in some way. The 11th is the toughest of the par-5s, though a golfer must also be careful on the third hole - which also has a lake in the fairway - and the 17th, with a lake near the green. Both nines end with demanding par-4s with water. The 18th requires a good drive over a lake to a fairway that doglegs to the right.
The Gary Player Signature “may be the best golf course in the Palm Springs area” Golf Magazine, 2002.
The layout is the first Gary Player desert course and features 20 acres of lakes, four waterfalls and beautiful landscaping.
Gary Player Signature Course hosted the 1992 Senior PGA Tour Qualifying Finals as well as many other professional tournaments.

Indian Wells - Players
Par: 72
Length: 6913 yards
Course designer: John Fought
|
Located at the Hyatt Grand Resort, The Golf Resort at Indian Wells offers two exciting 18-hole courses. The Players Course opened in November 2007 with championship courses featuring multi-tiered greens and elevations changes of up to 60 feet. Nine lakes bring water into play on 16 of the 36 holes, while breathtaking views sweep the desert floor and mountain ranges.
The Players Course features a classic American design complete with sculpted bunkers in a style reminiscent of Riviera, Winged Foot and the brilliant golf courses created by Dr. Alistair Mackenzie near Melbourne, Australia. Uniquely, John Fought was able to seamlessly integrate many stately trees found on the original properties into his new designs to impart the unique feel of an a mature course while at the same time delivering a modern approach to golf course design.
Most of the holes are oriented to take full advantage of jaw-dropping views of the San Jacinto, Santa Rosa and San Bernardino mountain ranges and majestic Eisenhower Mountain stands sentinel to the south. Indian Wells is situated just 10 miles south of Westin Mission Hills Resort.

Indian Wells - Celebrity
Par: 72
Length: 6632 yards
Course designer: Clive Clark
|
In addition to spectacular mountain views, the Celebrity Course features undulating fairways, and flowing water in the form of streams, brooks, and split-level lakes connected by striking waterfalls, with vibrant floral detail.
Open since November 1, 2006, this course is the first of two new golf courses to be built at the Indian Wells Golf Resort. The City of Indian Wells supplied designer Clive Clark with the original West Course property plus an additional 30 acres. Clark moved nearly 320,000 cubic yards of dirt to create an entirely new design. At the same time, he incorporated many of the mature trees from the West course. The result is a playable golf course within a beautiful setting.

Indian Canyons - North
Par: 72
Length: 6943 yards
Course designer: William F. Bell

Located within the Canyon District, Indian Canyons is just 12 miles West of The Westin Mission Hills. Home to 2 golf courses, Indian Canyons Golf Resort has been a jewel of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley since 1961.

Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Reagan also walked these fairways. The course is set on 550 acres of Native American tribal property.
Indian Canyons North Course is the longer of the 2 courses, featuring stunning mountain views and unique, mid century modern homes, several of which were originally owned by Walt Disney. Of the six water hazards on the course, the most notable is the lake between the 9th and 18th holes that is home to the famous Disney fountain, which to this day shoots water over 100 feet into the air. Set in Palm Springs' "Canyon" district and surrounded on three sides by the San Jacinto mountains, you can count on a pleasant, wind-free round of golf.

Desert Willow Firecliff
Par: 72
Length: 7056 yards
Course designer: Micheal Hurdzan and Dana Fry
|
The two courses at Desert Willow are the centerpiece of one of Palm Springs most exciting golf destinations. Firecliff is considered the tougher of the two and has received much recognition for its environmentally sound design and tournament quality. Firecliff is a true test of skill where golfers must negotiate their way around extensive natural areas, over 100 bunkers, and numerous water features.

Desert Willow Mountain View
Par: 72
Length: 6913 yards
Course designer: Micheal Hurdzan and Dana Fry
|
Desert Willow Mountain is just a 10 minute drive South of Westin Mission Hills. The two courses at Desert Willow are the centerpiece of one of Palm Springs most exciting golf destinations.
One of the more “resort-type” southern California golf courses is Desert Willow Mountain View with wider fairways and limited desert waste areas. With more forgiving fairways, 98 well-placed bunkers, sloping greens, and seven water features, Mountain View still requires the best from golfers of all levels.
Although Mountain View was built to be more of a resort-style course, trouble lurks on every hole. Superbly maintained, Desert Willow Golf Resort is located between Country Club and Frank Sinatra Drives.

Escena Golf Club
Par: 72
Length: 7233 yards
Course designer: Jack Nicklaus
|
Located just 8 miles South of Westin Mission Hills, the Escena Golf Club epitomizes the revitalization and repositioning of Palm Springs as a cosmopolitan desert retreat. Set amidst the panoramic beauty of the desert mountains, the Escena Golf Club features a public 18-hole championship golf course by Nicklaus Design. It portrays the past, emerging present, and future of this great oasis in the Southern California desert. Escena is built upon 172 acres accentuated by heavily landscaped native areas and multiple water features - perfect to provide a challenge for golfers at all levels of the game.
Escena has earned impressive accolades, including being named as one of the Top Ten Public Courses in California by PGATOUR.COM. We invite you to experience the golf course that is the talk of Palm Springs.
