Home - Golf Holidays - Scotland |
Scotland is golf’s spiritual home, where the game is almost a part of the fabric of life. No surprise then that Scotland is also home to some of the world’s greatest and best loved courses!
Carnoustie, St Andrews Old Course and Kingsbarns offer the very best of the east coast, with Turnberry, Troon, Gailes Links and Kilmarnock Barassie in the West.
Visitors to the north can include Royal Dornoch and Walker Cup Course Nairn with an itinerary to include whiskey tours and coastal trips to view the North Sea dolphins.
The “Home of Golf” looks forward to hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014, at the imperious Gleneagles resort in Perthshire, in Central Scotland.
Outside of the golf there’s so much else to do in Scotland with the backdrop of spectacular scenery, with horse riding at Turnberry and fine dining at the two Michelin-starred Andrew Fairlie restaurant at Gleneagles. There’s ghillie fishing services too at Gleneagles and spas at the St Andrews Old Course Hotel’s impressive Kohler Waters.
Weather: The golfing season in Scotland is from April to October, day-time temperatures 14 to 22°C (60 to 75°F). Discount hotel and golf prices are available in the low-season, with golf on links courses available year-round.
