Golf in Turkey

Turkey is the newest major golf destination in Europe, with Belek Atalaya on the south coast of the country the golf capital. The warm climate offers golf year-round. Belek is on the coast, with sandy beaches, and a wonderful choice of all-inclusive resorts, such as the The Papillon Zeugma Hotel and Spa and Sirene Belek Hotel.

Top designers including Nicklaus, Faldo, Montgomerie and Dye are helping create a modern range of championship courses that go well beyond the standards expected of many golfing resorts.

The recently opened Lykia World and Links Golf Resort is a hugely impressive venue with the Mediterranean’s only traditional links course, already a venue for professional tournaments, and an outstanding Ayurveda and Wellness spa.

The David Feherty-designed National Golf Club is a stop on the Ladies European Tour and former host of the European Seniors Tour.

Visitors to Turkey can enjoy a wealth of culture with examples of Byzantine, Roman and Ottoman architecture, as well as the varied landscape which ranges from the pristine beaches to the towering, often snow-capped mountains, of which Mount Ararat is the highest at 16,946ft.

The lasting impression of a golf holiday to Turkey is not only the quality of the golf and accommodation, or the wonderful weather and beaches, but the warmth of the people and welcoming hospitality and service.

Weather: Coastal areas of Turkey enjoy hot, dry summers and mild winters. May is the wettest month with July and August the hottest.
