Golf in Wales

With famous players such as former Masters Champion Ian Woosnam and Ryder Cup great Dai Rees, Wales is a country with a rich golfing heritage.

The country’s main golf resort is Celtic Manor, venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup and home to three excellent courses – The Montgomerie, Roman Road and 2010.

On the coast there are great tests in past Walker and Curtis Cup venue Royal Porthcawl and Southerndown, according to Henry Cotton home to “one of the toughest opening holes in golf”.
