The Ireland Atlantic Swing Tour is a lifetime trip to play some of the world’s finest links and lakeside golf courses, accompanied by a journey through breathtaking landscapes.
Your AscotGolf.com Atlantic Swing commences fittingly at the Atlantic Hotel in Lahinch, just a short transfer to the classic Lahinch Golf Links and easily accessible from Shannon International Airport.
The luxury townhouses of Adare Manor Resort are just a short coach ride south. Adare Manor hosted the Irish Open Venue in 2007&8 – won famously by Padraig Harrington before his Open success at Carnoustie. Adare is considered by many to be the very best golf course in Ireland.
Next stop is Ballybunion, described by Tom Watson as “one of the finest and most beautiful tests of links golf anywhere in the world” and venue for the Murphy’s Irish Open in 2000.
The Arnold Palmer-designed links at Tralee is described by World Cup winner Wayne Westner as “heaven on earth”. The town of Tralee is also well known as host to Ireland’s beauty pageant – the Rose of Tralee every August.
Killarney in Co Kerry is the tourist capital of the south of Ireland, with three wonderful golf courses at Killarney Golf Club, including the Killeen Course – also a former Irish Open venue.
Next up is Waterville, back on the coast, with accommodation at the Butler Arms Hotel which has been graced by the likes of Tiger Woods and the late great Payne Stewart - with framed and signed photographs evident throughout.
The Atlantic Swing Tour concludes in Cork with a visit to the dramatic Old Head of Kinsale before moving on to the picturesque setting of Cork Golf Club, laid out by Augusta designer Alistair Mackenzie.
