Saunton East

“I’ve no doubt that if the East Course were located on the coast of Lancashire or Kent, it would have hosted an Open Championship by now.” – Nick Faldo Saunton East Course is a championship links carved out between the coastal dunes of Braunton Burrows, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wild flowers such as orchids, evening primrose and poppies grow in abundance around the course. Saunton East is often home to prestigious amateur championships, including the 1997 British Boys Championship won by a young Sergio Garcia. The course was redesigned in 1919 by the famous designer W. Herbert Fowler and although slight modifications have been made since the war the course is essentially unchanged.

Saunton West

“I cannot think of anywhere in England where 36 holes could be more enjoyable.” – Nick Faldo Saunton West is shorter than its sister East Course, but in many ways offers a more exacting test of golf. Like the East Course, it is a traditional links set in the beautiful surrounding of Braunton Burrows. Course management and club selection play a huge part here, with precision needed on approach shots into the well-guarded greens. There are two putting greens available as well as practice grounds with a recent addition of a covered practice range to brush up on your swing.
