Leisure Facilities

The Fairmont Southampton features two swimming pools, both with freshwater, six tennis courts and water sports can be arranged including fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling and sailing. The Fairmont also has its own oceanfront Beach Club with an on-site PADI dive centre.

The Fairmont Southampton provides families with a Children's Activity Centre and Explorer's Camp available for children aged 5 years and up. The camp consists of a wide variety of activities including sporting events, scavenger hunts and watching movies. The Explorers Camp is offered for a daily fee of $30 per child per day. Additional costs apply for off property excursions and meals.

Local Area

There are many activities for guests visiting Bermuda including the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, Botanical Gardens where there are over 1,000 varieties of plants and flowers, Glass Bottom Boat Trips and Dolphin Quest - a unique and unforgettable in-water encounter with bottlenose dolphins in the lagoon of the Maritime Museum - Royal Naval Dockyard which is located 20-minutes from the Fairmont.

Bermuda's capital city Hamilton is reachable via a free ferry from the Fairmont Southampton. The Hamilton Harbour is one of the most beautiful in the world; Bermuda Yacht Club and the excellent shopping on Front Street. Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club

Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club first opened in 1922, making it Bermuda's oldest golf course and described by Bermudian golfers as "the course you must play". The links style layout winds along a peninsula - which at its widest measures only 600 yards making this course a truly unique layout.

Port Royal GC

Par: 71 Length: 6842 yards Course designer: Robert Rulewich

Port Royal GC hosted the 2009 & 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf - considered the world’s most exclusive golf tournament, featuring the current winners of the four Major Championships. The course is ranked among the world’s best public golf courses by Golf Digest and was named Bermuda’s finest course by the New York Times. Port Royal is also Bermuda's most picturesque course with most notably the dramatic 16th, a 238-yard crescent-shaped par-three with nothing but the Atlantic Ocean between the tee and the pin. 2010 Grand Slam Champion Ernie Els claimed it was, "the toughest hole I've ever played in my life!"

Turtle Hill GC

Par: 54 Length: 2684 yards Course designer: Theodore Robinson

Turtle Hill GC featured as the winner of Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play Golf. The layout features 18 par-three holes with stunning views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Its lush tropical surroundings, dramatic elevation changes and strong coastal winds make this short but challenging course a definite must play!

Belmont Hills GC

Par: 71 Length: 6100 yards Course designer: Algie M. Pulley Jr.

Belmont Hills GC opened in 2002 and designed on a contoured layout to maximise golfer’s experience while showcasing the Island’s captivating beauty. Belmont Hills has panoramic views of Hamilton Harbour and the Great Sound, providing the backdrop for some of the finest 18 holes on the Island.

Tucker's Point

Par: 70 Length: 6491 yards Course designer: Roger Rulewich

Tucker's Point Golf Course is Bermuda’s premier golf experience. The layout features undulating fairways with many elevated tees, usually set with the challenge of changeable winds. Tucker's Point is pristinely manicured, receives consistent high praise for the quality of its greens, and maintains the impeccable condition of its playing surfaces year round. The Club, located in Tucker's Town Bermuda, is set within a lush island landscape surrounded by world-class breathtaking views of turquoise sea. The Clubhouse, located on a panoramic hilltop, reflects signature Bermudian ambience. It includes the Grille Room and Bar, Golf Pro Shop, and full service locker rooms with complementary day lockers. The Grille Room and Bar serves lunch daily. On-course beverage cart service is available.

Mid Ocean GC

Par: 71 Length: 6548 yards Course designer: Charles Blair Macdonald & Seth Raynor

The Mid Ocean Club is a private golf course in Tucker's Town, Bermuda. Designed by Charles Blair Macdonald in 1921, it was modified to its current design in 1953 by Robert Trent Jones. Mid Ocean is consistently placed highly among world courses and is ranked 45th by Golf Digest for courses outside the United States. The Mid Ocean Club hosted its second PGA Grand Slam of Golf in October 2008 – won by Jim Furyk. The Mid Ocean Club course has been played by many heads of state such as George H. W. Bush, Winston Churchill, Dwight Eisenhower, and the Duke of Windsor. Some of the more well-known holes include the par-3 "Redan" 17th hole, the par-4 18th hole, as well as the signature par-4 5th. Ian Fleming mentions the club in his James Bond short story Quantum of Solace, describing the course as a "fine links where all the quality play and get together at the club afterwards for gossip and drinks".
