Kilkenny Golf Courses - Mount Juliet Hotel

Opened in May 1993, on the banks of the River Suir, the Faithlegg course has been cleverly moulded into a landscape of mature trees, parkland and five lakes.

The layout involves testing doglegs, blind tee shots, and a testing challenge for even the most accomplished golfer. At a championship yardage of 6,674 and a regular yardage from the white markers of 6,284, distance is not the main feature. The greens at Faithlegg are finely manicured fast - often very fast in summer months, and difficult to read.

The beautiful and challenging Mount Juliet course is a premier golfing venue in ireland. The course features rolling fairways, water hazards and contoured greens all superbly blended into the spectacular setting of this famous old Irish Estate. The 3rd hole is especially memorable, a stunning par-3 from an elevated tee to a green guarded by a stream and lake. The final hole, a long par-4 with water on the left and a narrow approach to the green.

The golf course at Waterford Castle is set on a 300-acre privately owned island, home of the world-renowned Waterford Castle Hotel, and was designed by former Ryder Cup player Des Smyth.

Despite being completely surrounded by water, Waterford Castle has an additional four internal water features on the second, third, fourth and sixteenth holes and can even boast its own version of the St Andrews Swilken Bridge!

The layout leads you through mature woodland and parkland. Rolling fairways and subtle contoured greens are blended into the great setting.
