Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa is an eighteenth-century Catalan farmhouse converted into an exclusive five star hotel, noted for its exceptional gardens, magnificent swimming pool and spectacular views. Charming medieval villages and pretty towns such as Begur and Pals with their beaches are all just a 10-minute drive away.

The spacious rooms feature decor that is traditional and elegant in the main building and, light yet cozy in the garden accommodation, some of which with a private pool and some with private terraces.

The Mas de Torrent gourmet restaurant offers traditional Catalan cuisine, an exquisite tasting menu and an extensive wine list. During the summer months, Mediterranean creations can be tasted in the Restaurant Piscina.

masSPA features a sauna, steam room, indoor pool and gym, among other facilities, and includes a wide selection of massages and treatments. In the hotel there are tennis courts and bicycles for guests' use.

Mas de Torrent features 37 suite rooms in total designed for a good night's rest, decorated with exquisite taste in perfect harmony with the exceptional setting.

In the garden area, next to the main building, there are 20 spectacular and modern suites. These rooms offer spectacular views of the Empordà with private terrace and direct access to the pool. The decoration of the Suite Jardín is unique, making them cozy yet, functional.

10 Masia Suites in the main house and each named after a flower. The Suite Masia rooms maintain the original structure of the former 18th century farmhouse and are decorated with antiques and modern amenities to create a cosy ambiance with character.

7 Naranjos Suites are exclusive suites with a private pool. Located in the most secluded part of the gardens, to enjoy the maximum privacy and the most exclusive luxury. Naranjos Suites feature a bedroom, living room, two bathrooms (one with jacuzzi) and a private terrace with a pool. Decorated with a private collection of paintings in tribute to Picasso, signed by artists such as Neruda, Alberti, Miro and Tapies.

The restaurant Mas de Torrent, offering traditional Catalan cuisine, is considered one of the best places to enjoy food in the whole of the Empordà region. A carefully thought-out menu showcases some of the freshest local seasonal ingredients. Additionally, the restaurant offers an extensive cellar and an excellent sommelier service.

Summer nights are even more magical when enjoying a delicious dinner on the restaurant’s moonlight terrace.

Situated between Barcelona and the French border, the Empordà region is one of the most enchanting areas in Catalonia with a character that sets it apart from anywhere else in Spain.

The Mediterranean woodlands, the beautiful secluded beaches of the Costa Brava and the natural beauty of region, with its rolling meadows and plunging pine-clad cliffs make this area an idyllic setting all year round.

It is the birthplace of important artists of our time, such as Dalí and Lluís Llach, and the place where many intellectuals and artists have settled and contributed to the cosmopolitan and cultured reputation that the Empordà enjoys today.

Close to Mas de Torrent, the family home of Catalan writer Josep Pla stands, and also the castle at Púbol, a gift from Dalí to Gala.

History

Mas de Torrent was built following an inspirational trip by the Figueras family, through Italy’s Tuscany and French Provence, who decided to turn the eighteenth century Catalan farmhouse into a unique and exclusive hotel in the Empordà region.

The remodeling of the farmhouse was carefully done so that the original facade and interior archways of this charming hotel could be fully restored. Other areas of the old farmhouse are incorporated into the facilities of the hotel. The front desk used to be part of the stables and the current pool room is what used to be the main entrance to the house.

New buildings were constructed, always taking into account the overall harmony with the natural surroundings. The 20 suites with private terrace and 7 exclusive suites with private pool, all beautifully integrated into the gardens, as well as the spa.

Since 1990, Mas de Torrent has been part of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux hotel association.

PGA Catalunya - Stadium

PGA Golf de Catalunya has been regularly ranked within the top 10 European venues by Golf World magazine. The Stadium course is suited to straight hitters with tight, tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers and lakes on seven of the toughest holes keeping the golfers attention! The European Tour Spanish Open took place at the Stadium Course in 2009, and was won by former Ryder Cup star Thomas Levet.

PGA Catalunya - Tour

PGA Golf de Catalunya opened in 1999 and has quickly gained an international reputation. The Tour course is shorter and less difficult than the Stadium, with more open fairways but pine trees and lakes on five holes.

Emporda Links

Emporda Golf, situated in the El Baix Emporda in the heart of the Costa Brava, features 36 holes divided into two separate 18-hole courses: Links and Forest. The Links course has lots of water - it comes into play on 13 holes - and sand, with very large bunkers adding to the difficulty of the course. Emporda Golf has been chosen as one of the Top Ten Golf Courses in Spain, recognized by the prestigious Peugeot Guide which gave the resort 17/20. Golf World magazine has placed Emporda 13th in Spain.

Emporda Forest

Emporda Golf, situated in the El Baix Emporda in the heart of the Costa Brava, features 36 holes divided into two separate 18-hole courses: Links and Forest. The Forest course is Mediterranean in style and winds through mature pine with lakes featuring on 5 holes. Emporda Golf has been chosen as one of the Top Ten Golf Courses in Spain, recognized by the prestigious "Peugeot Guide" which gave the resort 17/20. "Golf World" has placed Emporda 13th in Spain. Emporda has hosted the PGA Pre-Qualifying School II European Tour and, since 2002-2003, PGA Qualifying School European Tour Final and the Peugeot Tour Emporda Golf in 2006 and 2007.

Golf D’Aro-Mas Nou

Golf d'Aro-Mas Nou is one of the oldest golf courses of the Costa Brava, (Platja d’Aro). This Championship course is located just 7km North East of La Costa Golf & Beach Resort. Surrounded by forest and 300m above sea level in "Les Gavarres" mountains, the course has spectacular views of Costa Brava and the surrounding mountains. The 15th tee boasts the best sea views from Cape Begur to Tossa de Mar. Two large artificial lakes enhance the tranquility of this magnificent course. Golf d'Aro-Mas Nou has hosted the European Tour, including the Martini Open 1990, Open 1992 and Catalonia Ladies Masters 2006. The 18 holes require great accuracy from the tee due to narrow fairways but, players are rewarded with large greens.
