Accommodations at Half Moon have an air of elegant informality with a blend of native island style. Furnishings are Queen Anne and Chippendale reproductions, made at the resort by local craftsmen in Jamaican Mahogany and highlighted by coordinated prints. The plantation-style buildings lend a cool, crisp touch to the lush green of the lawns and tropical gardens.

Guests choose accommodations from Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Deluxe Suites, Royal Suites and Imperial Suites. Within the Hibiscus Wing, guests can also choose from beachfront one and two bedroom suites as well as Spa Suites.

The beachfront Royal Suites, offering the ultimate in pampered resort living, are enclosed within the Royal Court complex, which contains two large private swimming pools. Each of the spacious suites in the elegant Georgian-Colonial-style building comprises an entrance hall, large living room with terrace, and bedroom.

Junior and deluxe suites as well as the superior and deluxe rooms can be found along the crescent-shaped beach. All accommodations include cable TV, mini-bar, air-conditioning, telephone, in-room safe, balconies or patios, hair dryer, and an ocean and / or garden view.

The Hibiscus suites, offering one and two bedroom suites, are outfitted with a contemporary plantation-style theme and furnishings and feature large verandahs and balconies, data port internet access, electronic safe and other signature Half Moon amenities.

With 28 carefully selected and groomed mounts, experienced trail masters, a Polo Arena and Jumping Arena, Rocky Point Stables, Half Moon offers one of the finest equestrian experiences in the Caribbean.

The Fern Spa

The Fern Tree Spa is a 68,000sq ft facility with its own landscaped exotic gardens, tumbling waterfalls and lagoon pool on the exclusive Half Moon Resort in Jamaica.

The dedicated Fern Spa building features nine luxurious treatment suites, as well as a sauna, steam room, library and cafe.

You can indulge yourself in massages, body therapies, skin care therapies, bath soaks and energy work. Or, for a truly special way of relaxing, why not try swimming with dolphins in the resort’s own dolphin lagoon.

Captain's Water Sports and Dive Centre

The Caribbean’s cool clear waters teem with tropical fish and vibrant coral, making it one of the world’s best environments for scuba diving and snorkelling all year round.

The luxurious Half Moon Resort is perfectly locate for diving enthusiasts with the Montego Bay Marine Park having been created to preserve the beauty of the surrounding waters.

Famous sights include the Widowmaker’s Cave which is accessed from 80feet below sea level and twists and turns back up to an exit point 35feet below sea level.

Guests at Half Moon Resort have access to the Captain’s Water Sports and Dive Centre from where they can explore the emerald blue waters and their varied marine life in complete safety, with guides, instruction and the latest equipment all provided.

Anancy Children's Village

The Anancy Children’s Village at Half Moon is themed on Jamaica’s fabled children’s character Anancy the Spider!

The Children’s Village for children aged 3-12 is like a small town for young ones, complete with brightly coloured buildings and play-areas to enliven the senses of young visitors.

Programmes include puppet shows in Tacoomah Hut, cold refreshments in Patoo’s Lookout, creative classes in Artsy Kraftsy, and story telling. At the Anancy Children’s Village, children will also have the opportunity to learn more about Jamaica in a safe, fun and captivating environment.

The Anancy Children’s Village at Half Moon includes shaded play areas, activity rooms, a wading pool, sand box, expansive outdoor play area with each activity supervised by a well-trained coordinator.

Personal babysitters and nannies are at the Half Moon Resort, available with 24 hours notice.

There is also plenty for older children including tennis clinics, volleyball, nature walks, golf, squash, horseback riding and water sports galore. The Games Room, located at the Oleander Terrace is open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and offers a variety of video games.

The landscaped tropical grounds and estate of Half Moon make for a perfect day of exploring on two wheels. Bike rentals for children are available at the Bicycle Tent.

Half Moon

The great undulating greens of the Half Moon Course, challenging drives and breathtaking vistas are all typical of a Trent Jones Sr design. Recently renovated by architect Roger Rulewich, protégé to Jones, the course features newly aligned, multiple tee complexes as well as repositioned fairway and greenside bunkers. The greens demand special attention: while they are very playable, their shape and contour often force the better golfer to work the ball to get their approaches close to tucked pins, while leaving an opening for the novice player to run the ball in. That was one of Jones’ greatest talents – designing a course balanced enough to challenge the best in the world, yet playable for resort golfers.

White Witch

Par: 71 Length: 6859 yards Course designer: Robert Von Hagge and Rick Baril

The White Witch Golf Course is carved out of 600 acres of lush greenery and rugged hills with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. The course is the centrepiece of the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall Resort, situated around the mountains of Jamaica's historic Rose Hall Plantation. White Witch is considered one of the finest golf courses in the Caribbean and is named after the 19th century beauty, Annee Palmer, who owned the sugar plantation on which it stands. The course is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the Ritz Carlton.

Cinnamon Hill

Par: 72 Length: 6844 yards Course designer: Robert Von Hagge and Rick Baril

The Cinnamon Hill Golf Course (formerly Three Palms), is very much a contrast to the nearby White Witch course. With several holes running directly along the sea, it is less hilly and more open, with the cooling trade winds putting a premium on club selection. The layout moves from an open, windswept front nine into the lower elevations of the Blue Mountains on the back nine, where dense foliage traps the fairways of the incoming holes. Hole-names are both interesting and intimidating, and certainly memorable - such as 'Big Bamboo' - no 1, 'Dead and Gone' - no 4, 'Caribbean Ghost' - no 5 and 'Majestic Blue' - no 7. The course has been built on what once was a 400-acre sugar plantation, with remnants of the area's history, in the form of aqueducts, gravestones, and ruins of historic homes. At the second hole, the first of these landmarks, the former house of Annie Palmer (The White Witch of Rose Hall), sits on the hill that forms a backdrop for the short hole. Few golf resorts in the world boast such a spectacular setting, and few architects have been able to accomplish such an excellent routing to take full advantage of the land. An exceptional caddie program only enhances the overall experience.
