Guest Rooms

Castillo Hotel Son Vida has 164 rooms and suites, 77 classic, 75 deluxe and 12 suites. Each is equipped with air-conditioning, flat screen TV with CD/DVD player, work desk and separate bath and shower.

Classic Room (26-32-sq m) looks out over the hotel's surrounding emerald gardens. Available either with or without a balcony, these rooms are emblematic and elegant—the work of renowned designer Khuan Chew of the prestigious London firm KCA.

Deluxe Room (42 sq m) has either a large balcony overlooking the flourishing hotel garden, or large window offering a rare view of the glittering Bay of Palma. Across the room, a large bed is wrapped in 300-thread-count sheets, which promise a refreshing night’s sleep. A plush bathrobe, slippers, hairdryer, and additional telephone are also provided.

Grand Deluxe Room (41-50-sq m) located on the fourth through seventh floors on the front side of the hotel, look out over the radiant Bay of Palma. Equipped with either a grand French window or balcony, guests wake to the incandescent Mallorcan sunshine inviting them to enjoy an island day. Enjoy a bottle of champagne and chocolate petit fours upon your arrival, indulge in a complimentary massage in the Arabella Spa, and savor a relaxing Afternoon Tea per person per stay—it's all part of the Grand Deluxe Room Experience.

Family Suite (56 sq m) provides characteristic views of the hotel’s abundant garden from spacious balconies. Equipped with a table and chairs, they invite guests to enjoy our lush grounds, even from the comfort of their rooms. The master bedrooms perfect for parents, there is a connecting door that opens into a second bedroom equipped with a single bed for an adult and an extra bed for a child 12-years-old or under. Additionally, the two spacious bathrooms are reflective of the suite's worldly style.

Classic Suite (69-79 sq m) provides an emblematic experience that recalls the hotel’s historic grandeur. Greeting guests as they enter the room is a wide lounge furnished with a daybed, armchair, coffee table, and writing desk. Directly off the lounge are either large windows with a view of the luminous Bay of Palma or a balcony overlooking the hotel’s blossoming garden. Suites with a garden view offer the exceptional experience of tower bedrooms. Please note that while Classic Suites may be connected to Deluxe Rooms, rollaway beds are not allowed.

Deluxe Suite (100sq m) provides natural light spills into the room through French doors, beckoning guests out to an impressive, expansive balcony with an iconic view of the sapphire Bay of Palma. Inside, the spacious bedroom is furnished with a bed swathed in 300-thread-count sheets. A personal kitchen gives guests the option of preparing a snack or refreshment in-room or heading down to one of our on-site dining establishments. A walk-in closet provides plenty of luggage storage space. Please note that rollaway beds are not permitted in Deluxe Suites.

Loewe Suite (100 sq m) guests benefit from Castillo Hotel Son Vida’s gracious service even before they arrive, as the hotel’s Rolls-Royce—complete with chauffer—awaits them at the airport. The engaging experience continues as they enter their singular modern suite; there is no other like it in the world.The sitting area houses two armchairs and a sofa perfect for relaxing and enjoying a drink from the mini bar or watching a movie. For a memorable in-room meal—which can be ordered via our In-Room Dining service—there is a two-person dining area. Across the room, the bedroom houses an inviting King-sized bed. Even the bathroom is integrated into the open-plan design, so that the Jacuzzi and steam bath are fundamental to the room’s ensemble. Royal Suite (132 sq m) guests can enjoy an expansive work desk is the perfect place for keeping in touch with loved ones via complimentary Wi-Fi, and a walk-in closet gives guests extra storage space and makes unpacking easy. Corresponding and contrasting carpet and upholstery fuse with distinguished artwork to give the suite an overall synthesis. This harmony is exemplified by the King-sized bed. French doors leading out to the large terrace (33 sq m) offer an unobstructed view of the island and allow guests to wake up to the energizing Mallorcan sun. Refresh in the evening in the ample bathroom, comprising creamy marble double sinks, a separate shower and bath, and heated floors.

Villa Suite (300 sq m) is located near the sixth hole of the neighboring Son Vida Golf Course. Its two floors—decorated in the hotel’s signature style—house four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom stocked with a welcome beauty kit, exclusive Hermès bath amenities, bathrobes, and slippers. The expansive living room is populated with inviting couches and a 32-inch Sony Bravia flat screen television equipped with satellite channels and a CD/DVD player. The adjoining dining room has a table that can seat up to 12 guests for an impressive private meal. The adjacent spacious kitchen has a walk-in refrigerator, which holds a selection of the best Spanish cold cuts. For guests’ convenience, the kitchen is also supplied with a variety of coffees. Distinctive to the villa is a private wellness area, comprising a sauna and steam bath. A private pool with Jacuzzi, meanwhile, is located on the front grounds. There is also a 50-square-meter terrace with garden view, the perfect spot for a private barbecue prepared by a personal chef. Alternatively, villa guests are invited to discover the “Menú de Degustación” at our gourmet Es Vi restaurant.

Restaurant Es Ví: Providing the intimate feel of a sophisticated bodega, our Es Vi restaurant encapsulates the ideal wine tasting experience. Choose from over 400 wines that are perfectly paired with Chef Catalina Pieras' innovative new Mallorcan cuisine. Open Wednesday - Saturday from 7.30pm.

Bar Armas: Is the place to relax and an enjoy a drink off their extensive cocktail list. Small appetizers are served throughout the evening, and sushi or oysters are available upon request, also has magnificent outdoor terrace overlooking the bay of Palma. Open 5pm -1am.

Local Area

The Castillo Hotel Son Vida lies within the Son Vida urbanization and is ten minutes away from the centre of Palma and 15 minutes from the Son Sant Joan Airport. The hotel borders on the 18-hole Son Vida Golf golf course and is just two minutes drive from Son Muntaner Golf. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to both golf courses.

Son Quint

Modern course, with contoured greens and generous fairways. Surrounded by the forested hills, with a welcome absence of buildings. Due to its plateau location, Son Quint also offers fantastic views over the bay and city of Palma.

Son Vida

Par: 71 Length: 5601m Course designer: F. W. Hawtree

The Son Vida golf course is an enjoyable resort course, with the first tee situated within a very short walk of the Sheraton Arabella Hotel in the north of Palma. The first nine holes are tree-lined, with some elevated greens and tees. The second nine opens out, with flat terrain and some testing holes with lakes and streams to be navigated before reaching the impressive clubhouse. Son Vida was the first course built on Mallorca in 1964. There are some great views, including the spectacular cathedral which overlooks the sixth green, as well as the mountains and Palma Bay. Son Vida is relatively short in length, but narrow fairways and small greens mean it is still poses a challenge.

Son Muntaner

The Son Muntaner golf course is a natural setting within the historic Son Vida estate – surrounded by a monastery and the Castillo hotel, with stone walls, olive trees and wetlands creating an authentic Mallorcan experience. The fairways are generous, except for the finishing holes which test the accuracy late in the round. The course is designed to be in bloom all year round with a wide array of flowers so horticulturalists will be in their element. Son Muntaner is considered as the pick or the 3 courses that belong to the Son Vida estate – Son Quint and Son Vida being the other 2 courses. Son Muntaner is the only course which requires guests to stay on-site, at the Sheraton Arabella or sister hotels.

Alcanada

Wonderful, challenging and scenic golf course, with open rolling fairways, surrounded by pine trees, and set into the hills overlooking the Bay of Alcudia, with Minorca island in the distance. Alcanada is the only Mallorca golf course directly by the sea - the lighthouse on the island of Alcanada is just 150 metres from the course and forms part of the logo of the club of Alcanada. The golf course of Alcanada is located in an environmentally sensitive area - the golf clubhouse is located within a century-old finca or estate. The whole scene is tranquil and inspiring for a most enjoyable golfing experience. Owned by a member of the famous Porsche family.

Son Gual Golf

“I really liked the course. It’s a bit like Augusta” – Masters winner Ian Woosnam Son Gual is a challenging, well thought out course amid gently rolling terrain and with plenty of strategically placed bunkers. The course is designed to be generous, but stretching to 6621m off the back of four tees and with a variety of water hazards it can test the best golfer. The spectacular layout winds through hills, olive groves and vineyards, with neighbouring fields of colourful wild flowers and some of the best views in Mallorca. Son Gual is laid out in two very distinctive halves, the front nine running along the extremity of the estate, with the second encompassed within its centre. The estate's Palacio is perched atop the course, guarding the estate. The large greens, with subtle breaks and borrows, are designed to entice golfers into going for the pin. Cleverly crafted approach and run-off areas, however, demand your concentration and short game skills.
