Alicante is a Spanish city located on the Mediterranean coast. It has an arid Mediterranean climate, with mild temperatures all year long and little rain. Along with Valencia and Castellón it forms part of the Comunidad Valenciana.

Alicante Golf

Par: 72 Length: 6236m Course designer: Seve Ballesteros

Alicante Golf was officially opened on 23 January 1998 in a ceremony led by its designer, Severiano Ballesteros. Alicante Golf is on the Mediterranean coast, next to the spectacular San Juan beach and only 5 minutes from the centre of Alicante. A green haven set in a residential area, the course features wide tree lined fairways. The course includes six par-three holes, six par-four holes and six par-five holes, meaning that no two consecutive holes are played with the same par in any one round. This format makes play more varied and entertaining with birdie opportunities aplenty! Seve also designed 5 large lakes affecting 12 of the 18 holes, resulting in an attractive and challenging course for golfers of all abilities. Alicante Golf completed a major overhaul of its greens between 2004 and 2008 which involved rebuilding, and improving their design and other aspects such as watering, drainage, landscaping and shape. Following these renovations, the course now has 18 first-class greens, including the new green at hole 18, providing a stunningly dramatic finale to a round of golf and visible from the rooms in the Husa Alicante Golf Hotel. Other great features of the course are the practice area, with a natural grass driving range and a fully-equipped short game area, plus the ruins of a Roman villa dating back to the 1st century BC at Hole 14. The ruins came to light during building work on the course and the ball has to clear them to get to the green!

Bonalba Golf

Par: 72 Length: 6367m Course designer: Ramón Espinosa

The design of Bonalba Golf Resort is very impressive, with 5 large lakes, affecting 7 holes, and plenty of bunkers, especially situated to make decisions from the tee shot. The front nine holes can be considered more technical on the shot to the green, the short game will be very useful in order to save the par. In the second round, more specifically from the 12th to the 18th, the driver will be crucial in getting the ball on the fairway. The fairways are generous and wide.

Font del Llop

Par: 72 Length: 5848m Course designer: Blake Stirling and Marco Martin

Font del Llop is located just 10 minutes from Alicante Airport, surrounded by vineyards, almond trees and millenary olive trees. Font del Llop is totally integrated with the local landscape with natural valleys and a small river connecting five lakes. Font del Llop is American designed with Scottish type layout. Definitely a golf course to be enjoyed right in the heart of the Costa Blanca.

Alenda Golf

Par: 72 Length: 6257m Course designer: Roland Favrat

The Alenda Golf course was designed and built by Roland Favrat with the maximum respect for the original lay of the land and the estate’s natural vegetation, avoiding any aggressive movements of earth during the construction process. The first 9 holes are fun and open, with wide lanes lined with pine, carob and palm trees; in contrast, the last 9 holes require greater concentration, since this part of the course technically more demanding, where precision is more important than distance.

Las Colinas Golf

Par: 72 Length: 5587m Course designer: Cabell B. Robinson

Las Colinas golf course extends across the valley between the hills, adapts to the unusual lie of the land and blends naturally into the landscape. The width of its fairways, the design of its extensive undulating greens, and the numerous tees at each hole give it great versatility and mean that it is suitable for professional competitions, while also offering any player a pleasant, enjoyable and affordable game. In addition to the 18-hole championship course, there is a full range of amenities around the Club House, with a golf academy, a driving range of natural lawn, a putting green and an approach area. Designed by the renowned North American landscape architect, Cabell B. Robinson, the designer of internationally recognized golf courses such as La Reserva in Sotogrande, Finca Cortesín on Costa del Sol, Praia d'El Rey in Portugal and Royal Golf d'Evian in France. In Cabell’s own words, “my ultimate target as a landscape architect is for the course to form an integral part of the existing landscape... A unique feature of Las Colinas is that it runs through a valley between hills high enough to give it privacy and isolate it from its surrounding area."
