Hotel
The Lodge at Torrey Pines is designed in true Californian craftsman tradition with traditional post and beam construction, expansive spaces and respect for the natural landscape. Guests here are greeted by the Lodge's doormen attired in kilted Scottish Dress.
Inside are 171 guest rooms including seven suites, two restaurants, including A.R. Valentien which serves contemporary California cuisine, and expansive public rooms with fireplaces, large mantelpieces, comfortable leather chairs and views of the Torrey Pines Golf Course and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
Behind the Lodge is a heated pool with relaxing poolside cabanas, whirlpool, croquet lawn, and a large terrace with chaise longues for basking in the Southern California sun.
The Lodge at Torrey Pines is set on the cliffs of the Southern Californian coast. The Resort is an exclusive retreat with spa and overlooking two classic 18-hole golf courses. Torrey Pines was the scene of Tiger’s heroic victory in the 2008 US Open when he triumphed over Rocco Mediate – with a near-broken leg!

Custom-designed furniture, fabrics and carpets featuring William Morris-style designs give the rooms an elegance and warmth, further enhanced through appointments such as a granite-topped bar at each room's entrance, a rich leather chaise longue by the bed, Tiffany-style lamps and oil-rubbed bronze fixtures.
Bathrooms feature natural slab marble and granite floors, deep soaking tubs, and separate water closets. Rooms facing the golf course have separate marble-paneled stall showers.
Bar/Dining
The two restaurants at Torrey Pines Lodge comprise of the Grill & Bar for informal dining, and the Resort's signature restaurant, A.R. Valentien, featuring fresh innovative California cuisine set overlooking the golf course and Pacific coastline.
The A.R. Valentien restaurant takes its name from a talented 19th-century Californian artist famous for watercolours and ceramics and oils – works that are now collectors' items. The restaurant's wine list features California wines exclusively, including a variety of boutique wineries from throughout the state.

Torrey Pines - North
Par: 72
Length: 6647 yards
Course designer: William Bell
Venue: Buick Invitational
|
The spectacular seaside courses at Torrey Pines are situated atop cliffs towering above the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, with views of the coastline and deep ravines.
The courses are bounded by mountains to the north and the ocean to the west, and are often swept by sunshine or rain, fog and chilling winds.
The North Course jointly hosts the Buick Invitational each year with its sister South Course. It is shorter than the South Course but still a formidable test and is one of the most scenic golf courses in California.
Signature hole is the par-three sixth which sweeps downhill, offering a fantastic view over the cliffs and out across the Pacific.
|
Torrey Pines - South
Par: 72
Length: 7607 yards
Course designer: Rees Jones
Venue: US Open, Buick Invitational
|
The South Course is the more challenging of the two courses at Torrey Pines and was the venue for the US Open in 2008 when Tiger Woods famously triumphed over veteran Rocco Mediate… with a broken leg. Tiger also holds the course record here, with 62!
The course is the longest played on the USPGA Tour and also perhaps the most spectacular with amazing Pacific Ocean views from its clifftop location.
Eleven holes bring the cliff top into play and mature pine woodland is the main feature on the other holes.
