South Wales will play host to the Ryder Cup in 2010 at the world-class Celtic Manor Resort which now boasts three golf courses.
Celtic Manor is the perfect golfing base to explore other courses in the area, including links golf at Royal Porthcawl, Pennard and, further north, at Royal St David’s.
Both of Wales’ two main cities are in the south. A visit to Swansea should take in Mumbles, a charmingly picturesque village on the waterfront just outside the city with excellent bars and restaurants. Cardiff has a vibrant nightlife, while Cardiff Castle is a major attraction right in the heart of the city. The Millennium Stadium is the venue for many major sporting events including Wales’ passionate home rugby matches. |
