Leisure Facilities

Sol Estepona Marbella Atalaya Park offers a wide range of leisure activities for both children and adults throughout the Resort. Atalaya Park has a sports inclusive concept which allows guests to enjoy a variety of different activities at no additional cost. These activities include football, archery, shooting, waterpolo, table-tennis, athletics, basketball and handball.

The Resort has six swimming pools, two of which are indoors and swimming lessons are available for children from beginners to advanced. There are nine tennis courts, six clay and three hard where guests can learn or improve their game, take part in individual or group lessons, or join in the weekly Club tournaments that are organised.

The Resort has a regulation sized football pitch with fully equipped changing rooms located close to the pitch. The fully fitted gym has Nautilus weight-lifting equipment and cardio-vascular Life Fitness machines, with a variety of fitness classes available including aerobic stretch, gymnastics, body sculpting, step, aerogym or aquagym that are run by specialised instructors.

There is also diving with Happy Divers Marbella which is located directly on the beach of Sol Estepona Marbella Atalaya Park with great views to Gibraltar and the Moroccan coast. It has been managed by Peter Deth since 1996 who offers something for everyone - beginners, experienced divers and instructor training.

Children aged 4 – 12 yrs can attend Mini Club which offers extensive activities all year round. There are a wide variety of free sports lessons available including football, basketball, handball, tennis and volleyball, plus children receive a special gift on arrival at the hotel.

The hotel also runs excursions to local places of interest for both children and adults, and has a full evening entertainment programme to complete a memorable stay in the Costa de Sol for all.

Atalaya Old

The Atalaya Old Course, Estepona is characterised by wide fairways, elevated greens, and a pleasing variety of Eucalyptus, Olive and Pine trees. The Atalaya Old Course is possibly one of the most under-rated courses on the Costa del Sol - a real treat to play with great views of the Mediterranean and Gibraltar.

Atalaya New

Par: 72 Length: 6142m Course designer: Paul Krings

Atalaya New Course, Estepona was opened in 1992 and is more hilly, with smaller greens, than the Atalaya Old Course. The fairways are also more narrow and sloping and there are several lakes to negotiate. There are views of the Mediterranean and Gibraltar, in addition to an abundance of wildflowers and gorse bushes that make this an idyllic setting.

Valle Romano Golf

Par: 71 Length: 6231m Course designer: Seve Ballesteros

Valle Romano Golf, in Estepona, is an outstanding 18-hole course, fitted out to play host to the most demanding and prestigious tournaments. In Valle Romano we look after each detail and pamper the golfer at most. The player is warmly welcomed when arriving. When he finishes the marshall team offer to clean his clubs and shoes as a house courtesy. With an average 5 tees per hole and spacious greens with many flag positions, as well as overlooking the sea, Valle Romano is a course to enjoy in all senses of the word. A wooden booth with an interphone has been fitted on the green of the 8th hole for such purpose with a direct line to the restaurant. There is a menu in this booth that contains sandwiches, various sweet and savoury appetizers, soft drinks and energy drinks that players can order as they pass through this part of the course and get at hole 9. Since Valle Romano was no more than a plan, Seve had given it his backing and did so right up to the end. On our visits to Pedreña, as he battled against his illness, he always wanted to know, "How´s the course going? How are the houses?" Eager for any news, however insignificant it may have been. He would listen to us with endless attention and give his opinion, which was always welcome. Every player who passes through Valle Romano will take away a special memory of Seve. Hole 9, the most distinctive one on the course, bears his name.
