Unlimited golf packages are available at Santo da Serra Golf Club – ranked in the top 100 courses in Europe by Golf World Magazine. Complimentary shuttle transfers are also provided from Enotel Lido to to the picturesque Palheiro Golf Club.

The Enotel Lido Resort and Spa offers comfortable and modern accommodation with ocean views.

Deluxe Room: Located in the east wing of the hotel, the Deluxe Rooms have a veranda with side sea views or views to the swimming pool area. All verandas are furnished with a table and two chairs to enjoy the light, refreshing breeze of the Madeiran evenings.

The rooms are elegantly appointed featuring modern furniture, air conditioning and heating, cable TV, direct dial telephone, room safe and a minibar. There is also a comfortable rest area with two armchairs and a table. All bathrooms have a bathtub and a separate shower, bathrobes, hair dryer, make-up mirror and amenities. Max occupancy: 2 adults + 1 baby cot

Superior Room: All Superior Rooms are located in the west wing of the Hotel on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. From the furnished veranda you can enjoy pool and side sea views. This room type is larger than the Deluxe Rooms and offers the same facilities plus a trouser presser and coffee/tea making facilities. The decoration is modern, comfortable and the living area includes a sofa bed, two armchairs and a table. The bathroom includes a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle besides amenities such as make-up mirror, hair dryer and bathrobes.

Max occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child

Junior Suite: The Junior Suites have a 40sq m area of sheer luxury and comfort in a modern design and pleasant earth tones. The suites are located on the west and east wings of the hotel. These suites offer the same facilities as the Superior Room and have an independent living room with two armchairs, a small table, a sofa bed and a dinning table for four people. The bathroom offers a whirlpool bathtub with separate shower and also includes hair dryer, make-up mirror and bathrobes.

Tower Suite: The Tower Suites occupy 40sq m and are located on the centre of the building on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th floors, enjoying captivating views to the sea. They all have a spacious, furnished veranda plus all the facilities of the Superior Room. The Tower Suites are elegantly decorated in earth tones and offer a separate living room area with armchairs and a sofa bed as well as a dinning table for four. There is also a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The bathroom has a whirlpool bathtub, a separate shower and bathrobes, hair dryer and make-up mirror.

Local Area

São Roque Chapel, located close to Enotel Lido Resort and Spa, was built at the end of the 15th century to honour a vow made by the second Governor of Machico to the saint for his miracle of ending the plague!

For fine panoramas of Madeira's east coast - Porto Santo Island and the desert islands, there are two excellent viewpoints above Machico.

Severiano Ballesteros (2001) The Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra (27 holes) is ranked in the top 100 courses in Europe and has hosted Madeira’s most prestigious tournaments, including the Madeira Island Open, which has been part of the European Tour for the past 16 years, since 1993. The course was built in 1937. Robert Trent Jones Sr. redesigned the course in 1991, creating a true masterpiece on a par with his other fabulous creations, which include Valderrama and Spyglass Hill of Pebble Beach. Santo da Serra Golf course has been described by golf journalists as one of the most scenic on the European Tour. Santo de Serra winds through a botanical garden and up the slopes of the mountains to 1,000ft above sea level, so it’s best enjoyed on a clear day when the views across Machico Bay are simply breathtaking. Facilities at Santo da Serra include a golf academy, driving range and chipping and putting green.

Palheiro Golf Course

Palheiro Golf is a beautiful layout with breathtaking views, fast undulating greens, well-placed bunkers and tight fairways that reward accurate play. The course winds around the Palheiro Estate which is famous for its pine forests, centennial trees, flowering shrubs and lush vegetation. Standout holes include the attractive 9th with its exotic trees and the spectacular par-five 18th where your elevated position in the fairway affords you views out to the Atlantic Ocean and tempts you to go for the heavily tree-lined green in two. Facilities include a six-hole academy course, chipping green with bunker, putting green and driving range.
