The resort has its own Oubaai Heritage Trail with over 8km of hiking trails and a must for Dolphin and Whale watching from the on-site deck.

Heritage Hiking Trail The Oubaai Heritage Trail offers more than 8 km of hiking trails. Walk through indigenous forests where the rich biodiversity is reflected by the chirp of tree frogs and a multitude of birds!

Wine Tasting in Oubaai Garden Route Wine Tasting is a full day guided tour that includes transport, entrance fees, a light lunch and bottled water. The tour departs at 8:00am with an expedition to Calitzdorp through the scenic Outeniqua Mountains and the Little Karoo. Four different wine estates are visited and, at each estate, you will be given a short explanation of the various wines on offer before tasting them. Lunch is served in Oudshoorn before returning to the hotel by 6:00pm.

Ocean Safari and Nature Walk An eco tour which is a full day guided tour including transport, entrance fees, light lunch and bottled water. Plettenbergbay is the start of this Tour. A forest walk is done in the Garden of Eden. A sea-going vessel and an ocean safari is done viewing dolphins, seals, whales when in season. Once viewing is done a stop and break is done at an Italian seafood restaurant. The drive back to Oubaai is a sightseer’s point of interest along the Garden Route. The tour departs at 8:00am and return 6:00pm.

Camp Hyatt: The Camp Hyatt Kids’ Club, run by a team of qualified childcare professionals, provides great activities for children aged 4-12. Children under the age of four are welcome when accompanied by an adult, and, a private babysitting service is available. The Camp Hyatt Kids’ Club will be open on Mondays and Sundays during school holidays, subject to bookings.

Designed to entertain, educate and inspire our young guests, the Camp Hyatt Kids Club is located in the Village Market. Available at the kids club are fun-filled activities such as movies, Playstation and WII games, face painting, a jungle gym, educational games and group activities.

Educational excursions are also offerd for kids to the Strawberry Farm, Cango Caves, Crocodile Farm, Boat Trips, Reptile and Bird Parks, Elephant Sanctuary, Ostrich Farm and Camel rides.

Oubaai Golf Club

In designing the Oubaai Golf Club, Ernie Els and his team have taken full advantage of the spectacular landscape of the Western Cape. The layout of Oubaai golf course is a traditional Links where veld grasses line lush fairways. The 6th is a Par 3 - the green is framed by the Outeniqua Mountains in the distance and the Gwaing River flows below you. A 120 metre drive is required to cross the gorge and reach the fairway. The 17th is the most photographed hole, where the green meets the ocean. The green is guarded by 4 bunkers with ever changing winds making it one of the most challenging plays. The Clubhouse has a dramatic location that overlooks the 16th, 17th and 18th greens. Open-air terraces offer panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and the Gwaing River valley, while the executive boardroom is great for quick meetings before an afternoon of golf or spa.

Pezula Golf Club

Pinnacle Point

“The best Golf Course on the planet” Darren Clarke PINNACLE POINT golf course is something truly unique for the discerning golfer. Pinnacle Point was selected as one of the Top Ten New Golf Courses of the World for 2006 by the American publication Travel and Leisure in January 2007. This cliff top challenging layout commands a level of respect due to its dramatic views and breathtaking terrain. The 72 par layout is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs, 4 of which are played over ocean and cliff. The reintroduction of the endemic fauna and flora to this estate has been hailed as a remarkable achievement by local and international ecologists and the preservation of this pristine Fynbos is an ongoing commitment by the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort.

Simola Golf

Par: 72 Length: 5788m Course designer: Jack Nicklaus

The magnificence of the landscape at Simola inspired golfing legend Jack Nicklaus to design a masterpiece amidst the rolling hills at Kysna, South Africa. Forest, mountain and river are seen from an undulating valley and the panorama expands to uninterrupted overviews of the Knysna Lagoon and the famous Knysna Heads leading to the Ocean. The golfer will be distracted by this awesome beauty, but there is much to concentrate on as Nicklaus has maximised the use of the hilly terrain to create an undulating, meandering golf challenge regarded as one of the most favoured among the abundant golf visitors to this area. The first seven valley holes have those magnificent views of the Knysna River, while the 11 holes on the opposing side of the ridge have a sense of space due to the uninterrupted panorama of the surrounding area, which includes the Knysna Heads, lagoon and mountains. Immaculate Kikuyu fairways are punctuated with excellent Bent Grass, many of which are smaller than expected of a modern course, but which are strategically designed to challenge the golfer to choose the right approach to them to maximise scoring chances. Carts are compulsory and are included in the green fee.
