Hotel

The Manor House of Dalmahoy is set in 1000 acres of wooded parkland at the foot of the Pentland Hills. It was built in 1724 and extended in 1990 when opened as a hotel and country club.

The two golf courses at the Dalmahoy resort are James Braid designs from 1927 and 1935. The championship East Course played host to the Solheim Cup and Scottish Seniors Open, as well as the Scottish PGA won previously by European Ryder Cup Captain Sam Torrance.

The resort is a retreat for leisure and rejuvenation with a PGA-approved golf academy, gym, indoor swimming pool, spa and tennis. The newly refurbished spacious guest rooms feature luxury bedding, mini-bar, and wireless Internet access.

Only five miles from Edinburgh International Airport, Dalmahoy is ideally located with Scotland's capital – Edinburgh – just 10 miles away and views of the famous Edinburgh Castle from the hotel.

PGA Professional Scott Dixon and his team at the Marriot Dalmahoy provide a great programme of tuition for players of all abilities.Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club has splendid practice facilities and two golf courses, the West Course offering a gentler test for the less experienced player.

Dalmahoy East

Dalmahoy East course is set amongst 1000 acres of rolling parkland and was designed by the legendary James Braid in 1927. This immaculately maintained course winds through woodland, streams and lakes with glorious views over the surrounding Pentland Hills. It is not overly penal from the tee, but it is fairly long and there area plenty of bunkers to catch you out. Great holes include the 17th “Wee Wrecker”, a par three with no less than five bunkers around the green. Dalmahoy has hosted many major events, including the 1992 Solheim Cup when Catrin Nilsmark sealed a famous victory for Europe.

Dalmahoy West

Dalmahoy West course is the second of two Dalmahoy courses, designed by the great James Braid in 1935. It is not as long as its sister East course, but with small greens and narrow fairways there is a great demand for accuracy. Like the East course it winds through picturesque scenery of woodland and streams with lovely views of the Pentland Hills. The Gogar burn provides a spectacular water hazard at the close.
