Local Area
Cascais:
Cascais is the premier resort town of the Lisbon coastline that developed around a charming and historic town. Cascais is ideally situated close to Lisbon, with its numerous tourist attraction and outstanding nightlife, while to the north is the picturesque town of Sintra and the stunning hills of the Serra de Sintra national park.
Sintra:
Sintra is regarded as one of Portugal's most exquisite tourist destinations and it is located less than 15 miles from central Cascais. Sintra lies within the stunning Serra de Sintra and contains three of the most diverse palaces of Portugal; the Moorish Ruins, the National Palace and the Pena palace.
Beaches:
Some of the region’s best beaches are easily accessible from Cascais as day trips and should not be missed! Carcavelos beach is the preferred beach of Lisbon’s residents, which offers a wide golden beach of soft sand, clean and safe waters and great facilities. The beach is easily accessible from Cascais, suitable for families and a great place to spend a day.
Nature:
The most western point of Europe, the Cabo da Roca, and the Boca do Inferno (Hell's Mouth) in Cascais, are places that will both surprise you and allow you to get closer to nature.
Estoril Golf Course
Par: 69
Length: 5200m
Course designer: Mackenzie Ross
|
Estoril Golf Course is known as one of the oldest and most emblematic clubs in Portugal. A long list of famous golfers have played Estoril including Ballesteros, Montgomerie & Torrance.
Overlooking Estoril and the sea, this course is set amongst eucalyptus, mimosas and pine trees giving a uniquely colourful touch that demands excellent tactics, challenging accuracy rather than distance.
The visually stunning Par-3 4th hole is surrounded by pepper trees; and the Par-3 8th hole “The Tea Cup” is well known due to the always challenging flag position!

Oitavos
Par: 72
Length: 6303m
Course designer: Arthur Hills
Venue: PGA European Tour - Portuguese Open
|
Located in Cascais just 1km from Quinta da Marinha Hotel, close to the Guincho beach and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Oitavos is one course not to be missed on the Costa Lisboa.
Oitavos gives an old Scottish links feel with nine out and nine back layout. The early holes are in a wooded area then the course opens up a little and its style becomes more that of a traditional links. The quality of the layout is immediately apparent.
The course hosted the PGA European Tour Portuguese Open in 2005 with Paul Broadhurst lifting the trophy.
|
Penha Longa - Atlantic
Par: 72
Length: 6290m
Course designer: Robert Trent Jones Jnr
Venue: European Challenge Tour - Estoril Challenge
|
The famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the renowned Atlantic course at Penha Longa which is as much a physical challenge because of the landscape, as it is pleasing on the eye, for the same reason.
The land is also steeped in history, with a Palace, a church and the Fountain of Tears all situated on the estate formerly owned by the Count of Penha Longa. This is no ordinary track!
