Guest Rooms

Classic Rooms (35m²) – Featuring comfortable twin or double beds, a balcony with pleasing views overlooking the hotel garden, the winter garden or the villas.

Premium Rooms (35m²) – Featuring a private balcony with views overlooking striking Atlantic Ocean or the Vale do Lobo Golf Course.

Junior Suites (55m²) – consisting of a bedroom area graced with relaxing sitting area. The bathing facilities are divided into 2: one with the bathing facilities and the latter with the toilet. Junior Suite balconies have views to the different surroundings of the Dona Filipa Hotel & San Lorenzo Golf Resort.

Atlantic Suites (60m²) – open space suites with a leisure and a sleeping area with a king size bed and a bathroom. Atlantic Suites are situated in an exclusive area of the Hotel, with a large balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Ocean Suites (65m²) – consisting of a large open space with a sleeping area, furnished with a king size bed and sitting area. Bathrooms are equipped with a corner bathtub and a walk-in raindrop shower.

Kamal Restaurant

The new Kamal Restaurant was envisioned and designed in tribute to the sea, the Portuguese discoveries and Dona Filipa Lancaster’s era. Choosing a name worthy of such an important tribute was no easy task, until research pointed towards “Kamal”… apart from being a naval instrument of Arabian origin, also used during the Portuguese discoveries; Kamal also means: Perfection. Excellence. Beauty. Completion.

The perfect setting offering a complete and excellent array of daily buffet breakfast, sensational all-day dining menus and extravagant themed buffet dinners every evening.

If guests wish to eat alfresco (weather permitting), light lunches and snacks - including a number of regional specialities and a wide selection of beverages - are available by the poolside.

Wednesday Evenings - Fish Market Buffet The only seafood and fish all-you-can-eat experience in Vale do Lobo! Featuring seafood delicacies such as lobster, crab, shrimp, fresh mussels and much more. And of course, all the traditional accompaniments, salads and mouth watering desserts that make a seafood dinner complete! A grand and splendid buffet with a selection of 40 dishes!

Sunday Evenings – The Champagne Buffet already recognized as a local attraction, is famous for its upscale 35 dishes gourmet featuring an extensive assortment of appetizing entrees, exquisite main courses and delicious desserts. Our Champagne buffet undoubtedly exceeds everyone's expectations. Guests dining on this night are able to complement their dinner with French champagne, at no extra cost!

Leisure Facilities

Dona Filipa offers three floodlit tennis courts and instructor, a heated swimming pool, children's heated pool.

Penguin Village is a unique facility for children. Supervised by professional staff and available daily from Easter until September.

There is also a health club 800 metres from the hotel, horse riding facilities within four kilometres of the hotel, and numerous water sports activities and deep-sea fishing within ten kilometres.

San Lorenzo

San Lorenzo golf course is one of the very top courses on the Algarve, and previously ranked as the second-best course in Europe. Available to members and guests of Dona Filipa Hotel and Penina Golf Resort Hotel. The first five holes are relatively benign, with undulating fairways through a pine tree forest, before the golfer is faced with the unique views and exciting challenges of the extensive Ria Formosa lake/lagoon and bird sanctuary along which several holes border. The course finishes strongly - the 18th is a 440-metre par 4 with expansive water along the left side and an approach shot to a semi-island green.

Pinheiros Altos

Par: 71 Length: 5766m Course designer: Frank Pennink & Robert Trent Jones

Bordered by the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, and neighbouring the Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo estates, Pinheiros Altos lives up its name ("old pine trees") on the front nine, with rolling sandy terrain and pine trees lining the fairways. The second nine is quite different, more typically parkland, playing into a less undulating valley with several lakes. The island green of the 124-metre par 3 seventeenth is worthy of mention - providing an intimidating perspective, with water all around and with the wind liable to push your tee shot away from the target - shades of TPC Course, Sawgrass! Pinheiros Altos always offers a warm welcome, whether it be the staff, course condition, or the very popular bar and restaurant at the luxurious clubhouse, as well as providing a true test of golf.

Vale do Lobo Ocean

Par: 71 Length: 5493m Course designer: Sir Henry Cotton, Rocky Roquemore Venue: Portuguese Open

Situated within the fantastic Vale do Lobo resort, the Sir Henry Cotton-designed Vale do Lobo Ocean Course is a lush layout of pine and fig tree-lined fairways that sweeps down to the Atlantic. The course has been altered by renowned US architect Rocky Roquemore and has previously played host to the European Tour’s Portuguese Open.

Vale do Lobo Royal

Par: 71 Length: 6050m Course designer: Sir Henry Cotton, Rocky Roquemore Venue: Portuguese Open

The Vale do Lobo Royal Course is rated as one of the best in Europe and sits dramatically on the cliff’s edge over the Atlantic. The famous 16th is one of the most photographed holes in Europe and requires a shot of more than 180 metres over three spectacular cliffs. The wind plays an important role and even long hitters frequently require a good one-iron. The Royal is a very enjoyable course, with attractive holes lined with umbrella pines and fig trees. A buggy is recommended, though, as there is a lot of walking between greens and tees.
