Finca Cortesin is a spectacular 5-star golf & spa destination located between Marbella and Sotogrande flanked by the Casares Mountains with sweeping views of the Mediterranean.

Set within a vast 532 acre estate, the resort development opened quietly in March 2009. Built around two principal courtyards with palatial proportions, the hotel has 67 suites with lofty 4m high ceilings ranging from 50 to 180m². The hotel’s fresh but grand design is inspired by traditional Andalucian architecture and gives every area a big, bright and luxuriously spacious feel that is so rare in Europe. Outside, design features include white walls, shady arcades and courtyards.

The enormous Spa at Finca Cortesin offers guests seven treatment rooms, saunas, Turkish baths and a unique feature to Spain, snow cabin, in addition to an indoor 25m swimming pool and gymnasium with the most advanced equipment. Lush gardens totalling 23.000m² provide another two swimming pools, 35m and 50m in size.

The kitchen team is led by German born executive chef, Lutz Bösing embracing an open and creative perspective on Spanish cuisine. Bösing´s main focus is to harmonise classical traditions with modern concepts in his ongoing search for the best products and “flavours of life.”

The Finca Cortesin’s golf course has played host to the European Tour VOLVO World Matchplay Championship, attracting renowned players such as Rory McIlroy & Lee Westwood. The course has been designed to incorporate the area’s original flora and fauna and is reputed to have the best greens in Southern Spain. At nearly 7.500 yards, this is one of the longest golf courses in Europe and also boasts a Jack Nicklaus Golf Academy. Facilities and services include golf club valet and cleaning, a buggy bar for ice cold drinks on the course and a large interior designed Clubhouse with golf shop, bar, restaurant, terrace and impressive and unspoilt views of the course and the ocean.

El Jardin - Serving creative Spanish cuisine, the restaurant is split into two areas: In its interior, the restaurant showcases tall ceilings, clay tiled floors, antiques and Portuguese painted tiles. Outside, the restaurant features a spectacular terrace with views to the Mediterranean and picturesque gardens filled with 1000-year old olive trees.

REI by Finca Cortesin is the hotel's signature restaurant. Its cuisine is renowned for both exquisite traditional Asian dishes, as well as others that have emerged by fusing Asian with Mediterranean influences.

Guests are able to admire the Masterchef himself Luis Olarra at work in the kitchen as he prepares mouth-watering dishes; combining the highest quality seafood and raw materials, produce grown organically in our very own vegetable garden and Spanish cuisine classics.

Don Giovanni - Don Giovanni brings the authentic taste of Italy to Finca Cortesín with recipes that evoke respect towards tradition combined with ingenuity and innovation.

The Blue Bar - Offering a comprehensive menu, such a great selection of Spanish tapas, sandwiches, salads, fruits as well as a wide selection of different teas and daily specialties as per your preference. The Jack Nicklaus Golf Academy at Finca Cortesin is the first and only one in Spain. The teaching techniques adopted are applicable to all players adopted for skill levels and physical strengths.

Finca Cortesín Golf Course

Finca Cortesín was created as the new home for the European Tour’s Volvo Wold Matchplay Championship (previously held annually at Wentworth) from 2009. Its 70 rolling acres were expressly designed and landscaped so that residential areas remain virtually hidden to players leaving you to view the beauty of the course. Undulating fairways, spectacular water hazards and elevated tees combine to the make this a dramatic but fair test of golf.

La Reserva Golf Club

Par: 72 Length: 7400 yards Course designer: Cabell B. Robinson

La Reserva Club de Golf is a recent addition for golfers in this exclusive area of Costa del Sol, just a short drive from Almenara Resort, Sotogrande and Valderrama. La Reserva is located within two adjacent valleys. The Course is long but the fairways are wide so you can afford to open your shoulders with generous fairways. The greens are on the large size but it is one thing to be on the putting surface in regulation and another to avoid three putting when a long way from the pin position! Water features at half a dozen holes, but apart from one hole, it does not present itself as a frontal hazard. Both the inward and outward 9’s have par threes separated by long par fives. Notable holes on the front side include the 244-yard 6th with water pressurising the tee shot to the left of the green and the 205-yard 8th which is played downhill to a putting surface which also has water to the left and bunkers front right. On the back nine, the 180-yard 14th has only one bunker to the right of the green and the 159-yard 16th is played from an elevated tee to a tricky, shallow putting surface. La Reserva Golf Club is a very picturesque course which presents a challenge to all golfers, the perfect addition to your golf holiday.

Sotogrande

Sotogrande was founded in 1964 and is located on prime golfing land close to the beachfront between the river Guadiaro and Sotogrande marina. It is regularly voted in the top 10 courses in Europe. This testing layout from legendary designer Robert Trent Jones features lakes, fast greens, white crushed marble bunkers and a frequently testing wind. There are Bermuda grass fairways while the greens feature typical Trent Jones contours. Mature vegetation with pine, cork oaks, eucalyptus and giant palm trees add to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Many top events have been played at Sotogrande with the great Seve Ballesteros clinching the Spanish PGA here in 1987.

La Zagaleta New Course
